Cinnamon Rolls!!

This week in Advanced cooking, We made cinnamon rolls and there were a lot of steps. First we started making the dough and we had to activate the yeast with hot water (105-110 F) and sugar. Then after the dough was made we kneaded the dough and punched it, so that we could form gluten. After that we had to shape the dough and roll it with the cinnamon inside. Almost to the final step, which was baking the dough and making the glaze to go on top.

My evaluation of the cinnamon rolls is that they were delicious and the smell of them was even better, It made the whole class smell like cinnamon rolls and that was great. It smelt like i just walked into a bakery. The texture of them was crispy but soft, with just the right amount of cinnamon and glaze on them,i would definitely make them again.

Breakfast tacos / Kitchen safety

This week in advanced cooking, we made breakfast tacos and went over kitchen safety and sanitation. We made sure we cooked the eggs to 160°, so that we wouldn’t get salmonella or any other type of food borne illness. When we first went into our kitchens, we washed our hands and grabbed our aprons from the back of the room. Then we grabbed all the ingredients that our group needed, and began to cook the tortillas and eggs. Once we started to cook the eggs we had to keep moving them around with a plastic spatula, so that we wouldn’t scratch up the pan with a metal spatula. After all of my group’s eggs and tortillas were done cooking we added anything that our teacher had or that we brought in, to put into the breakfast tacos.

My evaluation on Breakfast tacos is that the eggs were soft, fluffy, and cheesy, with a nicely browned tortilla as the shell. I highly recommend making this when you are on the go, or just want something that will fill you up just not to an extreme. I would rate them a 8.5/10, and i would make them again.

Here is the recipe!

2 Eggs

2TBS cheese

2 tortillas

1 can of cooking spray

salt,pepper,green onions,salsa and hotsauce
